well I’m pretty tired just now, I’m gonna listen to some of that good ole haddock ska while I write this post then I’ll crash. Deal? DEAL!

First, new stuff: this is the initial sketch for a new tattoo design (not for me this time), which will probably have to be re-jigged owing to my drawing pad springing a leak - it was the weirdest damn thing, I used this pad for inking a couple of months back and it was fine, I ink the spacegirl and it felt like I was using a sponge. But anyway, here she is:

I’m not sure if the gun is phallic enough for that 50’s vibe, we’ll wait and see… In other news, I have ballsed up, already joined the amazing Kate Beaton’s new supergroup livejournal community thing it is time for history, which could be a good place for me to make stuff up off the top of my head and see who falls for it. Was that last bit meant to be struck through? Guess not! For the terminally lazy my comic-based contribution is right here:

- well it looks like this will be my last post for maybe a couple of weeks on account of me moving to Edinburgh, but to make up for it there are pictures. Starting with:

I gots more tattoo! It needs one more sitting to put the colour in and then it’s done - anybody know a good Edinburgh tattoo shop?

I have also recently found an art shop that does more than just black printing ink. ‘ve tried a bunch of other ways to get round the just-black-ink problem, but they all died horribly cause of being too thick or thin to print with. This, though, is much more promising:

I’ve started drawing at work as well, which is ace cause it’s for kids’ storytime so I get to just muck about with a sharpie then the kids (and whoever’s in the staffroom later) get to colour them in:

there’s some more I’ll post as soon as I can track them down. This one here, however, has precisely nothing to do with kids’ storytime because wild haggis can be hella dangerous. He might look all helpless and jiggly but he’ll rub skittles in your eyes till all you can see is food colouring:

- Well this is good, I finally finished off the tattoo design - then I find out the guy who’s doing it is away for two weeks or something crazy like that. Dammit! I wants my tattoo!

- well that was a hugely successful competition I had there, the winning picks will be up here as soon as I get some time to ink them - sunday or monday night I’d guess, there’s some alcohol-related business I must attend to tonight and tomorrow first. But in the meantime I got some printing done for the first time in aaaages, mostly involving the relentless torturing of innocent scraps of floor coverings because I am an EVIL LINO-TAUNTING BASTARD:

- And it’s Tuesday, which means another slice of caption-y goodness. Today involves: gorilla!

As well today: because of myself being a wee bit fussy when I’m designing my own tattoos, I’m still working on the flames design that I roughed out at christmas - I think this is gonna work though, I’ve dug out the lino cuttings and I’m trying this:

This is the first of a series - because of the flat being so damned cold the lino needs to sit on the heater for about half an hour to soften up enough for five minutes cutting time, which means I’ll get a nice freeze-frame effect if this works out.

- well, I’ve finished the tattoo design now, this is going on my arm in the near future:

now all I need to do is get it done…

- So how was everybody’s christmas? Between trying my best to keep meat and sugar in separate courses (not an easy task for me at the best of times) I came up with a couple of tattoo ideas, and this one here might be going on myself in the next couple of weeks:

This is the first tattoo design I’ve done for myself involving colour, I’m gonna re-jig it slightly to improve the flames and tweak the composition before I unleash it on my own pasty skin. I should have a final result, finances and gratuitous scabbing allowing, posted in the next couple of weeks for you.

There’s another design in the tubes for somebody else as well, I’m gonna wait till it’s on them before I post it but that shouldn’t be more than a week or two away as well.

It starts off at his wrist with the graveyard gates, then moves up to a night sky filled with comets and UFOs at his shoulder, then back down to his waist, I haven’t definitely decided what’s going there yet but an observatory looking up could be good…
