I am made of tired

Back on Wednesday I was slightly less knackered, so I went hunting and found the 2000AD forum, with this possibly dangerous 15 minutes to draw Dredd’s head thread. This one took me about twenty minutes with no research, which made me realise that in the years since I last bought 2000AD I had somehow managed to forget what shape Dredd’s chin is. I’ll be trying this again soon…

the late addition

The evil presence of Christmas Madness is making itself felt at my work, the main symptoms are simultaneously feeling dog tired and full of rage. But I had yesterday off, so a degree of sanity has returned. This here is my sub to last month’s Post-Apocalyptic Sketchbook:

squideyeslr

Chance of myself making another showing here this week is good, apart from Christmas Madness I was sorting out something I probably shouldn’t go into here. Till next time!

not dead, just monkeyed

- I am completely knackered. The dayjob is starting to ramp up for christmas (whut?), so my days recently have mostly been spent in the company of boxes filled with heavy heavy delights. I’ve been keeping on the drawing though, there’s a couple of comics and other stuff in the works that’s nowhere near finished enough to tell you about. Instead: Gorilla!scratchy gorillalr

Done in about forty-five minutes, hence the woogly hand. More later this week!*

*drawings, not woogly hands

I’ve got your enraged robots right here?

This one has no need for AA batteries:

annoyedrobot

I found something of a whitechapel side-project, the post-apocalyptic sketchbook, and thought it’d be rude not to give it a spin. This month: killer robots!

saw this today*

just had to draw it:

thing

I got the next two days off, and plan on spending some of them trying not to sever any important appendages doing lino cuts. I’ll be back here on Sunday/Monday to let you know how I did (it might take me longer, depending on how many arms fingers I have left)

*may not have actually seen it.

hey ho

let’s go? Well the thing that was different about today was I finally had some free time. There was drawing and there was lino cutting and at the end of it all there was character design, mainly for this week’s whitechapel remake/remodel thread. For those of you too lazy to click the link right there, Mr. Click Rush is an inventor/crimefighter with a frog for an employer. There are so many things not wrong with that description that this might be my favourite remodel so far. First, the character design, based on the large number of knockout-gas inventions he seems to use:

Next up is a hashed-out-at-work comic based on Mr. Rush’s day off:

PENEMA!
That is all.

ahoy?

Hee hee Ireland was great, I spent five lovely days in guinnessland and the wedding was awesome and smiley and drunken and so was Dublin come to think of it, although the wedding thankfully didn’t involve giraffe-drowning amounts of rain and where the hell did all that rain come from on Sunday? It couldn’t have been up in the sky, there’s not enough room.

I’m very very tired. Here’s a picture:

spiderqueen

This is the Spider Queen. I’m trying Mr. Ellis’ remake remodel again this week, this right here is some lunch-hour pencils. I’ll come back and do the ink when I’m less tired, falling asleep is a dangerous thing when you’ve got inky sharp things in your hand…

Bees in my head?

- my word, it’s been two weeks. What are the happs? The happs are good. The sun has decided to bless me with it’s presence for a change, and I have a new monkey friend!
angrymonkey
I think his name is Terry, although mostly he just throws poo. Terry is going on a linocut, just as soon as he gets a handle on the poo-throwing and learns how to behave.

This weekend my busy social calendar is taking me to Ireland. I’ll be back Monday, at which point – hopefully – normal service will resume. See you then!

muchas!

Looks like I drew something, for a change:
senorsklr

I like this guy. Gonna have to give him a name.

Other news: Holy crap! It would seem that I’ve finally sobered up after last weekend’s booze-fuelled events. Had an awesome stag night for senor Tony, where we managed to fill his poor brain with enough beer and jager to sink a hippo. Jagertastic!

Other other news: I got another single-page comic on the way, I’ve got a non-stag-do related weekend off coming up so I’ll be able to maybe get it inked.

Laters!

Aurochs!

And today I got to the museum. There was Aurochs heid!

aurochs

Five minute sketch with a class of screaming ten year olds pointing out that the beardy guy that smells funny is drawing something. Also! the Lewis Chess Set, including these nutjobs:

viking-nutterlrlewischesshorse

hee hee hee, I thought my day was made then I saw this bad boy:

seascorpionlr

This is a model of a sea scorpion, it is the same size as the fossil next to it at about four feet long. Wikipedia also reckons there was a different one of these that was eight feet of terror pure awesome. Sorry giant isopods, you are no longer my favourite marine crawly thing.
