I am made of tired

Back on Wednesday I was slightly less knackered, so I went hunting and found the 2000AD forum, with this possibly dangerous 15 minutes to draw Dredd’s head thread. This one took me about twenty minutes with no research, which made me realise that in the years since I last bought 2000AD I had somehow managed to forget what shape Dredd’s chin is. I’ll be trying this again soon…

this one right here

This week’s remake/remodel is Zero the Ghost Detective. Mr. Ellis’ description this week was a single line from a wiki that reads:

Zero the Ghost Detective would exterminate evil ghosts by any means necessary.

How can you say no to that? Here he is, and he’s not too happy:

I think I need to colour this.

Super what?

I return to Warren Ellis’ remake/remodel thread, which this week is SUPER ANN!

Warren’s description:

When Ann Star was a child, she was caught outside in a fierce snow storm. She managed to survive by taking refuge in a cave until the storm was over. In the cave, she discovered and old hermit from another planet who could not stand the light of day. He taught her secrets that gave her super strength and increased resistance to damage. Now known as Super Ann, she is depicted as always running on tiptoes, ballerina style, and as having many Superman-like powers. These powers include super speed, super strength, and the ability to leap tall buildings.

Which would mean her fatal weakness would be… this?

king prawn?

oops, that’s more than a week since I last posted here – I think this one owes more than a bit to District 9 trailers and playing a bit too much Devil May Cry 4 this week…

What is this ‘music’ of which you speak?

I went and did another of Mr. Ellis’ remake / remodels this week, it’s a big ‘un:

hey ho

let’s go? Well the thing that was different about today was I finally had some free time. There was drawing and there was lino cutting and at the end of it all there was character design, mainly for this week’s whitechapel remake/remodel thread. For those of you too lazy to click the link right there, Mr. Click Rush is an inventor/crimefighter with a frog for an employer. There are so many things not wrong with that description that this might be my favourite remodel so far. First, the character design, based on the large number of knockout-gas inventions he seems to use:

Next up is a hashed-out-at-work comic based on Mr. Rush’s day off:

PENEMA!
That is all.

ahoy?

Hee hee Ireland was great, I spent five lovely days in guinnessland and the wedding was awesome and smiley and drunken and so was Dublin come to think of it, although the wedding thankfully didn’t involve giraffe-drowning amounts of rain and where the hell did all that rain come from on Sunday? It couldn’t have been up in the sky, there’s not enough room.

I’m very very tired. Here’s a picture:

This is the Spider Queen. I’m trying Mr. Ellis’ remake remodel again this week, this right here is some lunch-hour pencils. I’ll come back and do the ink when I’m less tired, falling asleep is a dangerous thing when you’ve got inky sharp things in your hand…
