Insects and stuff

I’ve been a busy kid these past couple of weeks. Amongst other things, I found out there’s a butterfly farm near me, so I took my shiny new camera and found out it’s pretty damn good at close-ups.

butterflies are hussies!

butterflies are hussies!

This was the only species of butterfly in the place that would really stand still long enough to have its photo taken. Well, there were some others but they had camouflage, which is just not as nice to look at. Then there was this beast, that they let climb over everybody. This thing’s feet feel like hard toothbrush bristles, and I’m fairly sure it would beat me to a pulp in a fight:

giant-millipede

giant millipedes  are just biding their time, lulling us all into a false sense of security then  one day BAM! we’ll all wake up with millipede brains. They aren’t as awesome as this fella though:

pygmy chameleon

This is a pygmy chameleon shot through glass, at about twice life size. My camera is some kind of miracle worker.

- non-animal related news: I was over at a friends’ place the other day and it turns out this site looks pretty damn shoddy in IE. My response to this has to be, why are you still using IE?
